The rough times continue. The girl was at the printers till morning. Late enough to wake the boy up in the morning to send him off to work. But the boy is having his own problems. He is been sought after by the police for an apparent incident involving his car. He is wondering if he might be arrested for not washing his car. Are there such laws? The boy is also sleep deprived. He decided to go to bed nice and early last night but the building fire alarm went off sending all the tenants out into the cold.

the days blur into each other, and the signs that divide them (night turning into day) become almost irrelevant. miffy sits on the desk overlooking the bed and wonders: what happened?

girl spent the night at the printers. got ink and sleepless all over.

Things haven’t been easy in LoudCloud. The girl is working hard. She hasn’t got proper sleep lately. She rarely comes up for air and almost never feeds the fish. She doesn’t even eat carrots anymore. Needless to say everyone in LoudCloud is sad and worried. Piglet is sitting by the steps waiting for her all day. Miffy was scared to be all-alone in the sofa, so she went to room to join the others. The girl hasn’t spent any time with her since Miffy came to LoudCloud. The boy is waiting for email. But everyone knows, she will be back soon to play with them. She will be back to her normal schedule very soon. Then there will be lots of picnics and parties.

It's Friday! And the day is almost over. But no 'to-do-list' again. The girl hasn't come up for air all day.

after girl caught her breath, she looked into the eyes of the handsome young pilot who had rescued her. she realized that this was worth almost drowning for.. that moment when their eyes first met.

A pilot of a small aircraft today rescued a girl after the category 2 hurricane, Isabel, swept her to the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of New York City. The girl, a resident of LoudCloud, was known to have been venturing out on the beach carrying a pink polka dot umbrella when a sudden gust of wind suddenly carried her far into the ocean. A search and rescue effort was launched after an eyewitness who saw drama called 911. The boy, a pilot of a small Cessna aircraft, who happened to be flying in the area was alerted by the emergency response station who then braved the strong tropical winds to save the girl.
The pilot plucked the girl right out of the gigantic waves and flew her to Skylark where he administered ‘first aid’. She is known to be in stable condition and have decided to remain in Enfield for next several days.
The government has strongly cautioned the residents against using umbrellas in stormy weather.

LoudCloud is on Hurricane Watch. Looking outside it's hard to imagine there is a storm brewing up. Everything is so still. Motionless. Nevertheless, the residents need to be prepared. Residents should stock up emergency supplies and go thru the evacuation plan. Make sure there is adequate supplies of carrots and Poland Spring water to drink and shower (and batteries for those who are battery powered), to last through thru the storm. Category 2 Isabel is on it’s way and is expected to make landfall this afternoon. Hope the boy will be able to make his weekly commute!

the calm before the storm. a flicker in the eye before a tear.

lack of sleep and delirious. that is the general condition of the inhabitants of loudcloud this week. even the normally calm car bear is running around in circles. kendra has not had time to eat, she's lost so much weight her skirt seems to be continually slipping off her (or maybe there is another reason for that...). luckily, blake is there to make sure it doesn't fall down completely.

Mango, strawberry, raspberry and many more were the flavors at the Saturday night’s margarita party. All the fruits gave the color but the taste was distinctly tequila. With margarita mix bottle still full, it was more like flavored tequila drinks than margaritas. Nevertheless, they were yummy. All the cool people in LoudCloud (wearing cool shades) were joined by more people from far away places and everyone had a blast. The party went on well into the early morning hours with no major incident worthy of a being featured on MTV realty show except an attempt by a drunk attendee to kidnap Miffy.

picnic! this time all those in attendance wore sun glasses: car bear, frog-bank, caterpillar and even miffy were each sporting cool metallic shades. boy brought french baguettes and made a giant omelette, and there was also marmite (of course), nutella (of course), carrots (of course), orange juice, and skim-plus milk (although at least one person would have preferred heavy cream). the picnic was a hit, and boy (of course) ate so much he passed out. now he is getting all cozy with piglet. girl is supposed to do work, but she escaped to loudcloud. because someone is too sleepy to play (!)

air! at this point, only illusion. on the other side of the window, the other side of loudcloud, where girl has been all day. and the day turns into night. did day exist at all ?

To-Do-List: No idea! The girl hasn't come up for air the whole day.

It was not easy traveling with parents. The boy was all stressed out making sure all the flights, trains hotels and everything was in order. He had to pose for photographs every 2 seconds and eat vegetarian everyday. Above all the boy had to leave behind everyone in LoudCloud and missed them terribly.
That is not to say he didn’t have fun. Every night after going places with the parents, the boy sneaked out to do his own thing. Conveniently, his friends happened to be in the same city as he went.
The most fun he had was when he arrived in Paris. He had a blast. His friend took him to his friend’s jazz bar and down to the dungeons in the basement. It was so cool. The boy ended up the whole night getting drunk and showing American tourist the dungeons. Later in the night, the friend, who had no recollection of anything that happened after 12am, dropped him back in the hotel. The boy was lucky to be back in the hotel in one piece considering the car’s side mirror were shattered and the pieces of glass came in through the lowered window. Before the boy arrived back in the hotel, the streets of Paris were missing a couple of street signs.
The boy brought the girl a little present from the night out in Paris. It was all complete with instructions and illustrations.

The boy is back. He is so excited to be back on the cloud again. He did have a blast in Europe travelling in trains up the snow capped mountains and sighseeing in Paris with his parents, but he missed everyone so much in LoudCloud, he is so excited to be back.

miffy sits at home, on a purple sofa. poised atop fluffy fur cushions. miffy arrived last week in a box. fashionably late, as usual. she was hiding. unmarked cardboard. redel brought her upstairs. only we didn't know who she was. the box was open and ta - da .. miffy. such delight she brought.

we met boy later that evening. mentioned the sleepy, shy friend at home. boy got all excited. a new girl, he thought, waiting.. when we finally arrived back, his eyes wandered: where is she? he thought.

and then: he saw miffy. cute, adorable, shy miffy. any flicker of disappointment quickly disappeared. it was miffy, after all. upon finding miffy, boy was so happy (well he didn't shriek in excitement and giggle in delight like girl -but i suppose we all express happiness differently...). miffy had survived a long journey. jiggled around in a cardboard box, handled by distant post office hands. miffy was finally home.

car bear still on vacation? boy still in paris? sigh. sigh. sigh.

blake and kendra were here all weekend. alone. just sitting next to each other, their hands barely touching. their clothes still on. so sweet. (so sneaky)

eeeeeeeeeeeeeee

boy is missing. maybe on some faraway cliff?

girl overslept, ran to work. finally arrived, and realized she left her computer at home. had to go back. back home. back to bed, almost, but not. then back to work, again: imagine. going to work TWICE on monday morning - that most horrendous jolt to a weekend, repeated. shock.

The boz is far awaz in a foreign land. Misses LoudCloud verz much. The kezboard is all wierd. éäös. eeeeeeeeeee. Wish he was back in LoudCloud with his friends. Well ... at least he hopes everzone is having a great time. Canät wait to get back. äöäüöädjksä. :)

Thursday, September 04, 2003

The boy is leaving town. He has been so busy that he hasn't even had the time to update LoudCloud. So many things happened in the island. It was better than reality TV. Search and rescue missions, incriminating pictures, Afghanistan ... so many things happened last weekend. He will come and explain. Boy has to run now. He has to pack and run to the airport to catch a flight. He will miss LoudCloud. But he will be back soon.

someone just called blake a doll. dolls are what little girls play with. blake, like piglet, is real. he says interesting things and has a unique personality, and wears trendy clothes (that is, when he chooses to wear clothes at all). Clearly, BLAKE IS NOT A DOLL.

blake is making friends and influencing people.. soon he will have more visitors than me. i want to take a picture of him, doing cartwheels on the bookshelf - but, alas, camera (yet without a name) is out of memory. what can one do? delete pictures already taken? hmm.. that could be dangerous. download them? don't have a computer.. buy a new camera? of course, that's it!

Tuesday, September 02, 2003

actually, tuesday. yes its tuesday already. but casual tuesday doesn't have the same ring. will have to work on that.. how about goth tuesday?

blake, still recovering after his long trip, is in the office today... yay!! car bear is still on vacation. blake, though tired, is still glowing from all the attention he received this weekend. he does have quite a cult following... luckily, kendra is not the jealous type. or so he hopes..

after going around bare-chested on the island, blake finally put his shirt back on. not quite business casual, yet still more appropriate than the outfit of a certain other girl who is sharing his office. a red hooded sweatshirt with little dragon designs on the sleeve? hmm... next she is going to be wearing pajama pants to work... its the new casual monday. or so she hopes..

a long long weekend, but over far too soon. started out with out-of-town guests and giant frozen margaritas (mango, passion fruit, blueberry, and even poor rejected kiwi).. a trek to times square to see 'indian movie' that didn't exist (instead having a sensory assault from mobs of labor day tourists).. which made for a grateful (for once) escape to the upperwestside, where someone ate so much rice he passed out. but he deserves some kudos (or rather - ta da!) for fixing a door lock... with all the drama of a sitcom dad playing carpenter..

then escape from the city.. train/car/ferry. of course missed the ferry. a couple ferries. so took the high speed boat. too bad our friends were waiting at the wrong dock. luckily block island is small (kept running into everyone 'downtown' which is really just about half a block long).

arrived at the house for sunset. can anyone say real world? what happens when you put a group of 9 people in a house in the middle of nowhere. perhaps we create our own dramas when there is no t.v..
