LoudCloud Airlines Acquires Aircraft

LoudCloud Airlines has reportedly purchased its first aircraft and is expected to begin regular service between Skylark and NY as early as this weekend. The aircraft was purchased in New York City and is being transported to Enfield today. The girl managed to negotiate a comprehensive sales and maintenance agreement with the agent for the Megatech Aircrafts in New York. The maintenance agreement includes routine service as well as parts which may be damaged during the operation of the aircraft. LoudCloud Airlines is expected to provide a much needed alternative to commuters traveling between Enfield and New York City. The airline is also expected to fly number of special seasonal routes such as the one to Cape Cod this Saturday.

The Boy Discovers Boston

While the girl was out enjoying her self at 'Male Encounters' with her friends, the boy drove around the city of Boston for 3 long hours. He started from one side the Massachusetts Av and drove all the way over the Charles River to the other side of the city. He had coffee in Harvard Square and went looking for a Kinko’s. When he did find one it was past 2am. Although it was surprisingly still open there wasn’t anyone to help him. The boy drove on to Brookline, Brighton, South End and various other corners of Boston. When he got hungry, he ate the sponge cake from the Chinese bakery using improvised cutlery. Eventually he returned to where he dropped the girl and went in to the bar to see the band play. He had a beer and waited for the girl. The girl returned shortly traumatized. She couldn't handle all the encounters. They both drove back to boy's 'NoHa' suburb to which the girl is returning this weekend.

Big Question

boy and girl had a blissful day in Suburbia. they had sandwiches at an outdoor cafe, watched Shrek 2, ate ice cream at a corner store, played tennis, took a dip in the hot tub, and had a poolside barbecue. boy knew that girl was thoroughly relaxed, and slighly vulnerable, after such a day, so took the opportunity to ask her if she would move to a certain Suburb-North-of-Hartford. the girl almost choked on her barbecued shrimp. then she realized boy was laughing. it was a joke. right?

Male Encounters

girl went to a strip club on saturday night. the club was in the middle of a giant entertainment complex in a town called Sargus about forty minutes out of Boston, a place where the streets are lined with run-down motels and abandoned storefronts. to her disappointment "Male Encounters" was not full of cute gay boys in the audience. only lots of screaming drunk girls on bachelorette parties. just like her. except she wasn't screaming or drunk.

Piglet to Replace the Queen

The tiny Pacific nation of Tuvalu, formerly part of the British colony of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, announced yesterday that it is considering removing the Queen as head of state and becoming a republic.

Residents of Tuvalu have recently become enamoured with a certain pink-colored creature known as "Piglet" who they are considering as a replacement for the Queen. Piglet possesses the quiet elegance and photogenic qualities necessary for symbolic leadership, without any of the eating-disorders and marital problems commonly associated with Royalty.

Saufatu Sopo'aga, the prime minister, said opinions would be canvassed among the population of 11,000 to gauge popular support for a referendum on the issue.

one of the insights girl learned from spending the day immersed in reality t.v.: if a complete stranger spends 10 minutes snooping through your house, going through all your possessions (even your underwear), and is then able go shopping on a $1000 budget and pack you a suitcase for a trip to a tropical island that you find satisfactory... then you should go with him.

after a whole day of tv, girl is glad to be back

after enduring a full day of reality shows, talk shows, cartoons, travel channel specials, local cable shows, political pundits, and stand-up comedy, girl is glad to be back at work, where she has a full day of salon.com, wonkette.com, gawker.com, lockhartsteele.com, dailykos.com, bbc.com, lankapage.com and of course loudcloud.com.

girl is also happy to no longer have a fever and a sore throat. though she misses all the attention..

The boy in orange attends wedding in castle

After driving around in his car looking for a non-existent Stonewall street, the boy finally found the beautiful castle where the girl’s friend was getting married. He too made a grand entrance into the castle looking for his princess who was already there. As he drove up to the entrance he saw people in fancy cars stepping out of their vehicles in spiffy dinner cloths. The valet stood with the doors open until the guests got off and then drove off to park. The boy pulled up into the valet area and stepped out in his orange T-shirt and silver sweat pants. He parked the car himself right on the doorstep and dashed up to the room with his luggage ignoring the hundreds of wedding guests staring at the boy in orange running up the grand stairway of the castle. Up on the third floor, boy met the girl. Only for a few minutes though. She was already late for the wedding procession. The boy quickly changed from his orange outfit to his brand new Brooks Brothers tuxedo and joined everyone else at the celebrations.

boy and girl, unable to plan a gala event of their own (due to unforeseen circumstances involving girl's temperature), decided to take-over the wedding celebrations at the castle, and make it their own. the wedding party was so large, and the castle so sprawling, that no one seemed to notice, or care, that they had their very own private party in the middle of it.

girl and boy spent the weekend in a magical castle. girl had to make a grand entrance wearing her red satin dress and pink sash and modeling on the long runway from the castle gates to the ceremony. everyone watched; boy was sure she was going to trip but girl managed not to. when the ceremony was over, girl's friend was married, and more important, the cocktail party started. boy dazzled the guests in his elegant tuxedo. there were blue-green martinis and so much food. boy could barely contain himself: crepes, seafood, polenta, carved meat, even indian food, and this was only the appetizers. girl of course decided to share the food with her dress, getting crepes on everyone. they also wandered the grounds of the kingdom and looked for the dragon. soon it was time for a sit-down dinner (in table #5), where they were served even more food. in between all the courses there was lots of dancing with the jazzy leaping-into-the-audience band. finally there was a dessert buffet, featuring lots of cakes, cream puffs, pies, ice cream and most impressively, a chocolate fountain, drizzling with pounds of chocolate. girl and boy were tired after all the eating, dancing, and avoiding the paparazzi, but they managed to make it to the after-party, where they passed out in the bridal suite.

The Boy and Girl Celebrate One Year

The girl and the boy have known each other for year now. It’s been year and a few days since they met, of all the places, in a steak house. They didn’t speak that day but shared a limousine after dinner. The boy remembers someone taking a photograph inside the stretched limousine. So the moment is documented somewhere forever. It wasn’t till a few weeks after that the girl and the boy met again at a friend’s house exactly one year ago to this Sunday. That’s when they spoke for the first time and the girl never stopped talking since.

A lot happened during the year. Along with their friends, Piglet, Miffy, Spring, Bowery and all the rest, they have undertaken many adventures. They have covered a few states and attended some crazy parties. They planned a number of trips out of the country. But nothing except the trip to Sri Lanka and Maldives really materialized. They plan to visit Tuvalu to attend the big party on the 29th of June failing which they will visit the islands before the country disappear underwater.

Furthermore, the boy and the girl engaged in many creative exercises. They have created number of masterpieces like the ‘Sun’ by the girl and the ‘prom’ by the boy which are now world famous. Their collection which was displayed at the girls old apartment is now open to the public at the boy’s place. They watched countless movies of which most are indies shown in the Sunshine. They listened to rock bands in poetry clubs and poetry readings in rock clubs. They survived a 3 hour opera while people on either side of seats slept. Among countless other cultural, educational and other exciting activities, the girl and boy have flown their own plane, rowed their own boat, prepared gourmet meals and even organized their own private parties.

Most importantly, together they started loudcloud, where everything is blogged and availble to anyone who wants to know what the the boy and the girl are upto.

Throw the Confetti

its almost time to celebrate the birthday - the first birthday - of something girl and boy found on the upper west side last may with a little help from their friends and a drink (or two).

its not quite kiribath or even basmati, but that's what they are serving in the Treehouse today. boy doesn't mind, he will take rice, any form he can get it. atkins would not be pleased.

Piglet to Organize Gala Event

Before June 29th, when the people of Tuvalu celebrated their new skyscraper, (three story building gifted by the people of Taiwan) there is another huge party right here on LoudCloud. It falls on this Sunday right after the girl’s friend’s wedding in Long Island. Although neither the girl nor the boy has decided on the actual repertoire for the event, spokesperson for Loudcloud indicated plans for an extraordinary night filled with music, dance, gourmet food and even fireworks. The duo is faced with certain logistical challenges given the girl’s state of homelessness and her friend’s wedding plans in Long Island. The people of Loudcloud, at least the ones that weren’t lost in the midst of moving, are all expected to attend. Chief organizer for the event, Piglet, was seen hanging from a flagpole trying to decorate the ceremonial hall which is expected to hold hundreds of guests including famous stars and less known extras.

The boy plans his escape

The boy is overwhelmed by everything that is going on. He needs to make number of critical decisions that will either land him in the city or back where he came from. He will have to get on a boat and head back to his little island if things don’t work out. Should that happen, he will also be totally broke and if he is lucky will be able to avoid nasty law suit against him. The girl, being his lawyer, spends her free time talking to the boy about all his plans. She can’t even begin to plan what to do next until the boy knows where he will be. She remains homeless until then.

Save the Date: Big Party on June 29

The small island nation of Tuvalu in the South Pacific is planning a huge party next month to celebrate the opening of its biggest building, a three-floor structure from Taiwan.

Tuvalu is one of the few nations in the world to have diplomatic ties with Taiwan and Taipei has rewarded it with a new administration building costing around $US8 million.

"The building will be completed by the middle of this month," said Prime Minister Sopo'aga.

His current office is a small unmarked house on a beach, while the treasury occupies a small house near the police station.

The three floors of the new building on the Fongafale islet tower over the rest of the island and will provide the country with something that amounts to a centre of Government.

Tuvalu does not have a Parliament building and when its 12 members want to meet they use an open-sided hall usually used for dancing.

The Prime Minister said he expected senior Taiwan officials to come to his nation of 11,000 people for the "big party" on June 29.

Also expected to be in attendance are girl, boy, piglet, and blake.

boy's absence from loudcloud is sorely missed, but we will excuse him as he is in charge of running the entire treehouse this week, as everyone else is on vacation. hope the tree and its inhabitants are doing well.

figure out my password

girl cannot remember any of her passwords. and her password hints aren't particularly helpful either. for example, the hint to her password on her apple powerbook is: orange. so what is the password? apple, you'd think. but no. that would be far too simple. girl's mind is more complicated, devious.. who knows what the password is?

so this morning, when she arrived in the office to find various bright flyers plastered to her computer monitor notifying her that she must change her password on her office pc (aren't those help desk people so thoughtful?), she faced a huge dilemma in thinking up a password. finally, she thought of one thing she just couldn't forget, and made that her password..

a funny type of shower

on saturday, girl attended her very first wedding shower. to her surprise, there was no dancing in the lawn with the sprinklers on full. there was no playing slip and slide and splashing water all over the neighborhood. acknowledging that she is now in manhattan and no longer in southern california, she would have been satisfied with a simple release of fire sprinklers in the apartment drizzling water all over the bride-to-be and her cohorts. but no. that was not to be. in fact, there was not even any water, except for the iced kind in the elegant water vase on the nicely-set table. after getting over her initial disappointment, girl ended up having a blast. she enjoyed the delicious hor’dourves and suspense-filled opening of the presents. and, most impressively, the room was filled with lots of balloons. and in the end, helium-filled balloons are just as fun as water-filled-sprinkler-showers, or so girl convinced herself as she nibbled on sauteed green fern dipped in fondue.

homeless in the city

girl and boy were displaced this weekend. wandering the city, cold and hungry. without a place to call home. like tourists. then they were taken in by a kind gentlemen and his apprentice, who lived on the upper wise side. they were given shelter and even kiri hodi. girl even got a house key.

Loudlcoud people displaced

Since the girl moved out of her apartment, everyone in Loudcloud has been displaced. The boy wasn’t even aware Blake was missing. He thought Blake was at the girl’s office hanging out with all the lawyer chicks (and boys). A few - don’t know who - ended up in storage, locked up in the darkness of a 4x4x4 cubicle. (Temperature controlled and one of the best locations in Manhattan though.) Of course, the girl’s favorite, piglet et all stayed with the girl. The boy managed to save car bear and take him back to his place. The bear is hoping to be back in the car once the car has been cleaned and is deemed safe for habitation. But what about the others? Where are the prom people? Spring and bowery? No one knows. It’s like the aftermath of the Korean War. No one has proper records. Some are displaced, some homeless and some may even be dead. Fortunately, for the boy and the girl, they ended up on the same side of the border.

How come the boy didn't know? The boy was under the impression the girl had taken Blake to her office and he was enjoying all the attention.

FOUND on 42nd floor: blake, wearing backward trucker hat and a certain sri lankan airline t-shirt. alone and with a half-smile. appears to have escaped his captors in harrowing escape. hometown residents (piglet, miffy, marshmallow, car bear, kendra) have been holding nightly vigils. media anticipates "emotional" reunion.

the problem with walls

girl's friend - who just that morning passed the new york bar exam - slammed herself against a wall and ended up in the emergency room. and this was before she even got to the bar. girl would never do anything like that. no, girl generally waits until after the drinks to get to know her neighborhood walls.

rents increase; girl moves in to gym

boy wonders why girl disappears for increasing numbers of hours each day, and sometimes even at night, saying she is "doing yoga", "working out", or "taking a kickboxing class." it makes sense for a while, but then as boy watches the hour hands swing around his watch, he realizes: yoga classes cannot last 4 hours. and surely girl, who can barely make it up her stairs, cannot be running on a treadmill for 5 hours. at the same time, there are other signs: girl has no home phone number, no home address, and her sublettor is moving back in a few days. she has not found a new apartment to move into, and doesn't seem to be even searching for one. boy wonders, has girl finally ditched the madness of the new york city rental market, and moved in to her gym?

girl's friends passed the bar exam today. in celebration, they are all going to a bar.

Two-timing Blogger caught in the Act

despite his promises of devotion (just last week), blogger boy was discovered cheating on loudcloud, with ANOTHER BLOG. posting the very same entry on both sites. the horror, the horror.

what makes it even worse was that other site even got extra content. what would piglet think? piglet? piglet? where has piglet gone to. he has been absent from loudcloud for some time. maybe that is why boy, too, is drifting. maybe loudcloud is drifting too. maybe it is a sinking ship. a sinking cloud? is that rain. a thunderstorm. yes. but we are changing the subject. betrayal. yes betrayal. sob. sob.

Talking WonderBot

When a Robot stands outside the NY tech center of one of the biggest electronic manufacturing conglomerates, you expect it to be … well, a robot. You would think it would be packed with semiconductor technology perhaps running artificial software with ability to respond and interact to simple external inputs. But not only did the dim-witted piece of machinery lack the sophistication of Asimo and the other futuristic humanoid robots but was also a fake. It also looked more like the colonel Sanders with the head replaced with a coconut. But despite its hideous appearance one would still expect the silly looking contraption to be a real robot capable of constructing a few words on it's own that would make it appear intelligent. It was with deep disappointment the boy discovered it was in fact a man inside a room with a set of cameras, a mic and a cheat sheet. One would expect more from Sony!
